This new collection has a very special flavor, since it is already our tenth launch! For this anniversary, we obviously wanted to concoct a collection with all the little touches, which could represent everything we love most about Mapache: braided leather, bright colors, comfort, style... In total, we have imagined no less than 33 new items , which quickly joined our permanent models to form an ultra-desirable collection, called "Las preciosas". The inspirations

Our "Las Preciosas" collection is a tribute to Mexican crafts in the broadest sense . This name refers to all those pretty things seen in the aisles of local markets in Mexico . Textiles, decorations, ceramics, jewelry... Not only pretty, they are also the fruit of a rich cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation. We readily admire the meticulousness of the production, the vividness of the colors or even the essential heritage that these different crafts represent.

Then, naturally, we make the connection with the know-how that we have chosen to promote at Mapache: that of the authentic Mexican huarache . We then imagine new sandals by remembering the beautiful inspirations drawn during our stroll at the market. Only one thing guides us: to make each Mapache creation a true jewel of Mexican craftsmanship, reflecting the soul of this flamboyant country. And who says jewel, says jewelry...

Similar to precious stones, our new sandals are adorned with iridescent leathers in various tones: amethyst, topaz, emerald, tourmaline... We like to imagine our creations as little jewels that perfect your summer looks! The hardest part will be choosing the precious shade that will accompany you this summer, although: our iconic IBARRA iris can satisfy the most indecisive among you ;)

The daring ones

You know it if you are fans of our brand: at Mapache, we like to dare! This character trait must be linked to our sunny temperament which invites itself even into our wardrobe.Claire , who designs the creations, has an overflowing imagination and does not hesitate to create new braids each year . This is how she gave life to the ISIDORA , a model which stands out thanks to its ankle attachment, delicately connected to the rest of the shoe using several straps. You have to see it to understand ;) We also think of the GABY , whose audacity was to mix two very different styles of shoes: the Mexican huarache and the classic little ballerina. Or, the BIANCA barefoot and its leather inserts inspired by the Mayan pyramids.

The timeless ones

If we love pieces that allow us to stand out from the crowd, we appreciate good timeless pieces just as much! Safe bets in our summer wardrobe, the simplest sandals are definitely the ones we wear the most , because they fit so well into our busy and varied schedules. Going to the office, shopping, going out with friends, going on vacation: what better than a pair of CARMEN to help you tick all these boxes? This braided platform sandal with strap is our big favorite of the season, for its chameleon side that doesn't neglect style. If you like the "jellyfish" look, we also imagined the LUCIA , a multi-strap sandal so easy to wear every day. Lovers of color, know that it also exists in pink and blue ! The CAMILA is also one of our timeless models, with a graphic braiding that invites you to travel.

The refined ones

This last category is for fans of wide braids! Indeed, when we imagine our sandals, the width of the strap is important and for example, the rendering between an ALEGRE and a DIEGO will be totally different. On one side, we have a very fine and worked braid then on the other, a simple and refined braid. You will certainly appreciate this style of creations if you generally opt for minimalist outfits or on the contrary, if you want to "soften" a more colorful outfit. We also think of the pretty LOLA and its magnificent wide braid work, which changes from what we usually offer but while keeping the advantages of a Mapache sandal, namely a comfortable platform sole, quality leather and entirely handcrafted. And if you are looking for a more open sandal, we advise you to take a look at the TULUM , which has a circular braid representing our logo.
