Learn about Mapache products
Due to their artisanal manufacturing method , our shoes have very specific characteristics :
- The braided leather is next to the skin without lining and perfectly fits the shape of the foot ( you may then touch the tip, which would be normal );
- The braided leather will relax after a few hours of wearing the pair;
- The fit is narrow , meaning our shoes may feel smaller than other brands .
It is therefore important to choose a size that will provide you with good support. To do this, you should refer to our advice and the measurements we provide.
Find your size at Mapache
To choose your size, you must take into consideration the length of your foot as well as its circumference (between the first and last metatarsal). You must then refer to the corresponding Size Equivalence table . This will allow you to determine a size and a foot type .

Take into account the advice depending on the models
We work with several manufacturing workshops in Mexico, which means we have to offer models with sometimes different fits .
Therefore, it is essential to refer to the advice on the product pages in order to know the corresponding fit . Depending on your foot type, you will know whether you should take the size indicated on the table, take the size above or below .
Despite our advice on technical aspects and our numerous tests with our customers, there is no foolproof method for choosing your shoe size without first trying it on. Indeed, every foot is different and each person's feelings are unique. Our advice is therefore given for guidance only.
If you are still unsure about your size, there are several options available to you:
- make an appointment in our Clermont-Ferrand showroom
- visit one of our dealers
- request an exchange or credit note (available for mainland France, Belgium and EU countries)
- order 2 sizes and return the one that doesn't fit (return costs will be free for mainland France and Belgium!)
