Designed in our offices in France and developed in our workshops in Mexico, each of our sandals contains hours of thought, fittings and modifications that we are about to reveal to you here.
Because so that you can wear your Mapache during the solar season, we spend many months composing the collection down to the smallest details.

Get inspired
A new collection always starts with a blank canvas, which we gradually add to as we discover new things and discover new ones. Our only guiding principle is Mexico , as a tribute each year to this country that we love so much . We combine this with your expectations and what will be the trends of tomorrow!
Imagine

Develop
The magic can happen: the artisans take our technical drawings and create the best possible version of the sandal.
From the drawing, the designer creates a shoe pattern that will guide the entire process of making it. We then set out to find the materials: leathers, soles, buckles, accessories, etc.
Nothing is left to chance in order to obtain the expected result , we even sometimes develop new things ourselves, such as the shape of the shoe (called "horma" in our workshops) for aesthetic reasons but also for comfort. This is a step that is both long and expensive, but in our opinion essential to continue to challenge ourselves.
Our craftsmen finally braid the leather strips onto the last: the prototype of the sandal is born.
Improve
In a perfect world, we would validate prototypes at the first fitting. But the reality is somewhat different…
When we receive the sandals at the office, we try them on and simultaneously analyze several criteria such as fit, comfort and support (for example, do the straps hide the toes well when necessary?).
We scrutinize everything, and if changes need to be made, our craftsmen work quickly on a new prototype. Sometimes several months pass before we can approve a model.
Decline
It's time to talk about the final step in creating a sandal (which is by far the most recreational): creating the shoe in several colors.
Depending on the collection's theme, we assign each model a pre-defined selection of colors. Our workshops then develop our prototypes in the chosen colors. Blended shades, flashy leathers, or softer hues: we're spoiled for choice, but we sometimes decide to develop our own leathers. Visit us here to find out the why and how!
Once we receive the prototypes in the right colors, we put together the collection from scratch, trusting our instincts and your (future) support.
