Frequently Asked Questions:

Women's Huaraches

Born in the workshops of Michoacán, Mexico, our women's huaraches carry on a weaving tradition passed down through generations. Each pair is handcrafted, strand of leather by strand of leather, by artisans we know and pay fairly. The result: a breathable, supple, and timeless sandal that is as at home in the city as it is by the water. Want to discover who is behind your pair? Meet Elizabeth, one of our artisans.

How to choose your size?

The woven huarache stretches slightly with wear and eventually molds to the foot. If you are between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the smaller one. Find all our references, width by width, in our size guide.

Caring for your leather

Leather is alive and develops a patina over time. To keep it supple and vibrant, nourish it regularly and let it air dry, away from any source of heat. Discover our care products designed for vegetable-tanned leather.

How to wear them?

The huarache pairs just as well with a flowy dress as it does with raw denim or linen shorts. Our natural colors complement any look, while our golden and iridescent shades add that signature Mapache sunny touch. Looking for another style? Also explore our sandals, mules, and ballerinas.
